I feel like the big change here probably happened before 1987. But I see these series don't go back any further at fred.
It is *always* disappointing when so few years of data are available, as with the two "share in cost" series. The other Labor Share series does go back to 1947 and is at least somewhat comparable to the labor "share in cost" series (at least since 1987).
I was happy to see that the two shares-in-cost series appear to add up to 100%, i.e. total cost, meaning no cost escapes being counted -- I HOPE!
