Trump's plan to reinvigorate the US economy: What you need to know

The lingo:

America’s 250th Anniversary

On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate the most important milestone in our country’s history—250 years of American Independence...

The leadership:

Under the President’s leadership, the Salute to America 250 Task Force (“Task Force 250”) has commenced the planning of a full year of festivities to officially launch on Memorial Day, 2025 and continue through July 4th, 2026.

And the plan:

The White House is engaging and encouraging the entire federal government, state and local governments, the private sector, non-profit and educational institutions, and every citizen across this country to join in this historic celebration.

Oh, and the link: America 250 - The White House. I almost forgot!

Monday, 28 April, an afterthought.

From "Social welfare in ancient Rome" at Imperium Romanum

"An important role in the overall Roman aid system was played by all kinds of holidays and state celebrations. Festive days in Rome occupied more than half of the year, about 182 feasts were celebrated in a more or less solemn way. There were one or two holidays for every working day.

Well, you know, Trump is just getting started. He'll be finessing things, no doubt. He won't long be satisfied with 11 federal holidays.
